When we last saw the Diner, things were getting a little out of hand. And Ellowyne had no clue how to restore order.
Suddenly, an elegant woman stepped out of the crowd. It was Ellowyne's neighbor, Ms Evangeline Ghastly. Rumor had it that Zombie Boy was her faithful companion. "Ricky!" she sternly said. "Get down from there right now!" Ellowyne and Gwen glanced at each other ... who ever knew that Zombie Boy's name was Ricky?
"Now apologize to Ellowyne and let's go home," Ms Ghastly instructed. Ricky muttered "I'm sorry" as he and Ms Ghastly headed out the door.
Ellowyne had to smile as she heard Ms Ghastly say, "And you really should be wearing a shirt! It's freezing outside."
Cathy and her friends also prepared to leave. They were sure there were better parties to be found elsewhere; with many more beads!
Ellowyne sighed with relief as the Diner returned to normal. Friends and customers seemed to be enjoying themselves again.
Just about that time, Frank arrived back from his errands. He was dressed as an 18th Century nobleman and carrying a large box. Inside was a King Cake, direct from New Orleans!
Frank called Ellowyne over and said, "I'm sorry I was running a little late. I hope I didn't miss anything." Ellowyne just rolled her eyes.
But where was Betty? And their guest of honor, Dominique? It was starting to get late and they still hadn't arrived.
(to be continued - and hopefully completed - Monday night)
