Hi Sharon, I've had this before too and this is what I did. I

bought a large bag of unscented kitty litter and covered the bottom of a box with it, then placed the doll in it, undressed, covered with a layer of the clean litter, then loosely added her clothes and other items that came with her (just as they came without washing) on top of the 2nd layer of litter, then added more litter until everything is covered. Then I put the box inside a large clean garbage bag and tied the ends so no air would get in. Leave it this way for 2 months. I know it's a long time, but the litter will safely absorb all odors, even cigarette smoke and leave the items smelling free of any kind of odor. You won't even smell the litter (make sure it's unscented). After 2 months, all will be fresh smelling. Just dust everything off, which should be quick and easy, and then wash everything. Since I have a kitty, I then poured the litter back into the containder that I saved and used it again for the litter box so it's a win-sin- LOL...I hope that helps. I did that once with a doll that smelled so bad of cigarette smoke, and not a trace afterwards. Good luck. I hate what this happens
