In the first group, I own several ex-Mercator masters but none of those were AMCs with the exception of Kronprinz Wilhelm in WW1. The Mercators are a high priority for me because of their high original cost. That means that Kronprinz Wilhelm, Whale Factory Ship, Unitas, Normandie, Europa and Queen Mary are all ahead of Canton (of which I have a wooden model made 25+ years ago which might be able to be moulded with a lot of effort for the 1943 AMC version).
In the case of the other model makers AMC's, Norbert has the Aegir models. This was a series that had two versions of each ship, one in peacetime livery and one in wartime livery. Norbert has promised me that he will re-issue Clement (first Graf Spee victim) with Crispin that was an armed freighter converted to an OBV and in use as an AMC escort vessel when sunk. Further out would be Beaverford/Beaverbrae and others if these were to be successful. Albatros has the Alk 100 series and CM has the CM-P series and Mare Nostrum has covered the Italian and HB the Japanese AMCs. Second-hand models from Mercator, Colonia, G-Model, GLR, Hansa, Argonaut, Trident, Santa Rosa, Pedestal Models, Wirral and Len Jordan are all worth checking out but there are still gaps. If anyone has any master models ready to be cast, you could always ask me to help out. In the meantime, I have lots of unfinished lighthouses to make....
