If and when I do a revised Eagle Book there will be some new, irrefutble evidence that the major molds were destroyed. At least some had already been destroyed before Eagle closed. More on that when I do a revised version.
As near as I can tell, the HobbyBoss USS New York was only listed by retailer in the UK and on a web page from Germany that was announcing new products (unoffically). It never showed up on the HobbyBoss site. I beleive it was listed in error as the New York was produced in a larger scale. Nothing close to 1:1250 though. In the US, the HobbyBoss kits are not all that well recieved unfortuneatly. I pick up a few every now and then as a major hobby retailer here keeps selling them for about 2.5 GBP!
It seems that only Revell of Germany is going to keep going with the 1:1200 scale. Even then there is a good chance that these will be discontinued as the Revell Germany Company has just been sold back to Revell USA. That is NOT good news for any future ships in 1:1200 scale. Revell Germany has been far more creative than Revell USA in almost all of their products (better quality too!). The future is not looking all that bright for more plastic in 1:1200 or 1:1250 unfortunlety.
