When I realised that Charles' range has now been on the go for longer than both the original first series and the Minic second one, I went back to look at the web site and was pleased to see it had been updated with reference to the container and cargo ships and gantries. Didn’t look closer until today and checked out the detail pages of the ‘new’ models and saw that there were references and pictures to ‘real’ ships. Thinking back to my postings last December now feel that a marketing opportunity had been missed on their release – how much better if they had been released with these references and names, especially for the containerships where there is a close link.
I hope that with the forthcoming tankers and bulkers the models will be released with details of the vessels they are based on and that this will also apply to any related models.
Variants of funnel and superstructure would allow a better match to 'sister' vessels.
