I've just been watching this programme via the BBC iPlayer. Quite an enjoyable and relaxing hour on the whole, but perhaps a bit too much of the "coffee table book" approach to satisfy enthusiasts. I did notice that my fellow PILOT anorak, Bruce Peter, was the leading historical contributor and probably explains the interior design emphasis. Bruce emailed me only last week with some photos of his latest PILOT acquisitions and an apology for not being in touch recently. Apparently the contract with the beeb has been occupying much of his time for the last six months and left little time for miniship modelling. I can only wonder at how much really new and interesting information ended up on the cutting room floor. Bruce's books on the history of Danish ship design and the architecture of the QE2 are absolutely packed with detail and fresh facts. I'm sure he would have been just as thorough with any material he wrote for the BBC. Anyway, it's nice to know that "one of us" was involved in the programme making.
