Sorry, Roger. Definitely NO Pearl Harbour. I really enjoyed building and painting your Christiansø which is a super model, but we live in a small house and my collection is competing for room with Ann's costume jewellery. We've had to do a deal - I only collect ships which will fit in MY cabinet and she only collects brooches which will fit in HER cabinet. Thus peace is restored. Of course, HER collection of teddy bears is still up for discussion and this may well prove useful when I find a nice 1/1250 Jahre Viking. However, any negotiations about the bears may well jeopardize MY growing collection of aneroid barometers..........Oh, well.
Iain - Not sure about the ship but it's certainly one of the Strick fleet. I've found some nice BW pictures of Liverpool Docks in 1960 which I'll use to ring the changes with the wallpaper. The present one is a bit too dark for comfort. I'm messing about with these images using Gimp at the moment to try and improve things. You can see the full set at
