Thanks Doug, yes I am confident that there are many other collectors. Since my posting I have come across a couple of people with good collections and am looking forward to seeing some. What such models lack in detail they make up for in nostalgia, thus I suspect that most collectors would generally be of more advanced years and consequently, more mature taste.
I have succesfully mixed colours, and have made up a large quantity, as I wish future aquisitions to match. The few which I have do however vary, and I wonder if there was originally any variation according to batches, or if they have been exposed to differing conditions over the years which has faded them differently.
