Thanks for your comments Jeff, as I posted on another thread, that is exactly what I intend to do, renovate them to an 'as sold' condition. They will not be 'playthings' for my grandchildren, but they do handle them and move them around my display cabinets, thus the metal is of no concern to me. My current quest is to identify the rather dark colours of grey and teak which you mention. Whilst I am able to mix it, I would prefer to find a colour in order to maintain standards, unless the originals varied. I have bought a couple of tins of various Humbrol and Revell greys and sand/teaks, but too date they dry either too light, or dark. I have also seen a couple of Tremos, believed to be in original condition, but with enhanced details such as painted navigation lights and boats. Can anyone advise if they were sold as such, or has someone enhanced them? I have also seen examples without such detail.
Such trivia is making my quest more fascinating.
