Sandy S - I didn't realise you were there - I thought we were going to discus slow wine, or whatever?
It was good to see two younger 'stallholders' - Will & Neville, and if we can get John Ellis' grandson involved, it will show that we can get younger people interested.
There were a few absentees - two of the regular warganing fraternity weren't there due to illness; hopefully we'll see them in the future. Many of you will remember old Ken Smith, a largish gentleman from Nottingham (originally Torquay) who has supported Welton since its inception in 1992. I had a call from a friend of his on Sunday evening. Unfortunately old age has caught up with him and he has had to go into a Nursing Home in the Nottingham area. His son has, apparently, sold (or is selling) his collections of ships & trains 'on the internet'. Ken was in the Navy in WWII and joined (so he told me) the Warspite at Bremerton on 7th December, 1941, where the ship was called upon to provide the AA defence of the area - there being nothing else available.
