Like Jeff, I decided to persevere with this line and have received the next two models, Prince of Wales and Scharnhorst. I haven't suffered as badly as others in that my models have been rather better than others mentioned here and elsewhere. Both these models have thehull joint immediately above the armour belt and and this is disguised to some extent on Scharnhorst by the early 1943 disruptive camouflage which has been applied to the hull, turrets and wobble-pots. There should also be some dark grey to the front of the funnel but it has not been done on this model. This scheme was short-lived and it was replaced by a dark grey block on the hull before exercising with Tirpitz in March 1943 onwards, so it was a winter scheme and Scharnhorst does not seem to have been in drydock wearing this pattern, so my intended display in Dock No.5 will not be entirely prototypical! Prince of Wales is in overall grey, so display in drydock would be fine (except for the Walrus that would probably have been landed).
