I used the photos on the 1250Ships website as a painting guide for my LJ "Athenic". Since (I assume) this model was painted by Les Hodder, it's probably quite accurate. You can see these photos using the link below.
1250Ships - Athenic
I painted my Athenic during a period of experimentation with deck colours. I think I may have used quite a lot of "Desert Yellow" in the mix and with hindsight, the decks have ended up too "bright". The photos were taken in direct sunlight and this has somewhat softened the appearance of the colours.
Recently, I've gone back to GW "Bleached Bone" for deck teak, which I find much more pleasing. Here's another angle showing my Athenic - perhaps I need to re-paint those decks?
