Les Hodder paints them all wood. He's pretty reliable on deck colours in my experience, even if his interpretation of weathered teak is a little on the green side to my eyes. Certainly there are a number of deck photos of Gothic during its time as a Royal yacht showing natural wood in abundance. You may find some if you search for the Royal Tour of '53. I don't believe Gothic was significantly different to the rest of the class in this area.
