I think you've managed to crack the photo posting problem Gary, but for anyone else who might be a bit confused, here's a few tips.
1) Remember! You cannot post photos onto Dockside directly from your own computer or camera.
2) You can post a link to a photo which is stored somewhere on the internet.
3) The photo could be stored in some personal online account (Photobucket is the most popular) or it could be already posted on another web page somewhere.
4) To display your own photos - set up a Photobucket account at http://photobucket.com/ and using the instructions provided, upload your pictures from your own PC. Once you've got access to your gallery of uploaded photos, left click and copy the URL shown in the DIRECT LINK box under the required photo. Back in Dockside, click the IMAGE logo under the MESSAGE window and paste the URL into the IMAGE URL box. Make sure the cursor is where you want your photo to appear in your message. Now click on the ADD button. Check everything is OK by previewing your message. Once you're happy, go ahead and post. It makes life easier if you have two windows open in your browser - one with Dockside and one with Photobucket.
5) Basically the the same process will work with pictures on other web pages. Left click on a photo, scroll down to PROPERTIES, then copy the URL and paste this into the IMAGE URL box on Dockside. Now click ADD.
It all sound a bit complicated, but in with practice, only takes a few seconds.
There are many alternative free online picture storage sites, (Snapfish, Flickr etc.) but Photobucket has a long and proven reliablity record and is extensively used by collectors both in the UK and USA.
If anyone needs to post a photo and for whatever reason is unable to do so, send the photo to me as an email attachment and I'll make sure that it appears on Dockside for you.
John
