Whilst having some alterations to our house, my Rhenania "Italia" suffered a heavy landing on a wooden floor and two tail fins were damaged beyond repair. The excess and no claims bonus on my insurance almost exactly equalled the cost of a replacement model, so I put it out of sight in its hangar and tried to forget it. Last week I saw a Revell Minikit of Hindenburg (no scale given) and the airship envelope is almost exactly the same size and shape as the Italia in 1/1250 but without the external keel, so for under £2 and a little work with a file and sandpaper I'll have an alternative to hide in the hangar whilst I make some new plasticard fins for the original to fly over Mountford's Ice Sheet!
It also looks as though another kit might do Parseval or P16/17....
