I have some models that I plan to sell via a certain online auction site, and I'd like them to arrive with a full complement of masts, cranes, gun barrels and other vulnerable extremities. Do docksiders have advice on how best to pack them? The best method that I have seen is attaching the models inside boxes with double-sided tape, then lightly wedging in pieces of foam rubber just in case they part company with the tape. However, the last time I received a fine Neptune model packed in this way, removing it from the tape also removed a sizeable amount of the paint from the hull! Is there a perfect solution out there? And does anyone know where I could find model ship sized boxes (say 20cm x 5cm x 5cm)? All suggestions greatfully received...
