[ Galaxie Forum Full-size Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury ]

When posting a question about your Galaxie or other Ford (all are welcome), BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to accurately answer questions.

It was 70 today! Posted by Rogersgalaxie67 on October 30, 2009, 4:41 pm 76.235.62.252 So naturally I managed to not go to work. It's nice to be your own boss! Instead, I worked on the LTD. Earlier in the week it was pretty good out so I cleaned and painted the trans. Wednesday I spent rearranging my garage, AGAIN. Seems I have to do that once every two Months! I put up some peg board and straightened up a bit of my excess stuff that was pilled up everywhere. Maybe I will be able to find something now!? I haven't decided yet if I am going to pull the motor apart yet. Most likely I will, I have all winter to mess with it. Meanwhile, today I took the door handles off the donor car and put them on the LTD. I'll swap them out next spring when I paint a pair I have. I wanted to keep the rain out of the doors till then and it is easier to open the door with them on! I also wired up the dash I tore apart. Checked everything to be sure it worked and replaced the fan motor because it didn't. All else was fine. Other than that I haven't been doing anything! That transmission looks good, what kind of paint did you put on it?? There again I love forums, I don't know why I didn't think of getting some peg board, I need to do that!!! It is similar to POR15. Brush it on and it flows out nice. Really tough and durable rust encapsulator. Are you going to treat the aluminum with something so..." 69.11.24.209 I did give the aluminum a spray with some rattle can clear coat that I had kicking around. The pieces were all hot tanked and then gone over with wire wheels. I hit the aluminum with with a sanding block and hope the smoother surface will hold less gunk. The pics are 640X480 for direct posting in forums. I may have higher res copies somewhere.  Post a Response

To get your full size image to post... Here is a thumbnail from a group of photos I hit copy from. Then I clicked on the image got the full size shot and hit copy To really impress, click on zoom, and then copy !!
