When posting a question about your Galaxie or other Ford (all are welcome), BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to accurately answer questions.

351 Cleveland in to 1964 Galaxie Posted by koosh351 on August 7, 2009, 10:49 pm 222.152.19.156 hi team I have a 1964 hardtop with no engine or gearbox. I have a really nice 351Cleveland engine and strong C4 tranny. Where can I get engine mounts to fit this engine in and will I need to change the transmission cross member? what's the Cleveland and C4 out of??? Posted by Daze on August 8, 2009, 9:58 am, in reply to "351 Cleveland in to 1964 Galaxie" 69.145.220.22 I did a little looking on line and the first thing I did was compare motor mounts. In 1972 the Ford LTD offered both the 351w and the 351C and both engines use the same motor mounts. that tells me that the mounting locations for the mounts, on the block, are the same. so you should be able to get your self some 1965 Mustang motor mounts for a 289 and drop that motor right in to that 64 Galaxie. As far as the C4, I am 99% sure that you will need to modify the transmission crossmember and you will probably need to get your driveline lengthened. Not sure on tranny mount and crossmember. Might have to slip it in and see what lines up. Headers? Not sure you'll find any, but might try a set of mustang or cougars and see if they fit?  Post a Response
