break question/problem Posted by Daze on August 6, 2009, 10:33 pm 69.145.220.22 My Galaxie has the original drum brakes on the rear and disc brakes on the front. It has worked well for the past two weeks, but now it is doing something I have never had happen before. When I press the brake pedal the pedal is firm like normal, but I get almost no response from the brakes. Then when the pedal gets about 1/4 depressed the brakes grab hard. It was not doing that before does any one know what could be causing it now.  Post a Response

If it does, it will weaken the rubber diaphragm and cause it to be soft. after you overcome the initial loss it will then boost as normal. That means you will feel resistance in the pedal for a moment then it will suddenly get vacuum and grab hard. Or it could be the proportioning valve is faulty.  Post a Response
