Posted by JEM Need to do a little assembly, but once that's done I'll be able to bolt a spindle into the jig by its hub nut, then clamp the whole thing vertically in a machinists' vise and make all the cuts relative to a plate that sticks out horizontally from the machined front face of the spindle. I'll need to figure out how to get it on the rotary table to clean up the steering arm stub, and of course I now get to make a jig to mock up a new steering arm to clear the back of the caliper...

...with the machinist chopping on '70-73 drum spindles to remove the steering arms and clean up some of the other mounting dimensions, it'll now be almost trivially easy to lay out and cut brackets for the 6-piston Cayenne Turbo calipers (basically a small piece of 3/8in 1018 steel plate.)
I decided after all the monkey-motion we had to go through to get them clamped on the mill bed that I really wanted a jig to make this all repeatable, so I CADded myself up some parts and went down to Techshop and cut some of the pieces on the CNC mill this AM (lesson learned: I need a better selection of end-mills).
