I have the same brake conversion on my '67 Galaxie convertible. I bought it in 2004 from Dearborn Classics. At the time it was listed as '77 Granada full assembly. SO, Daze, it is a Granada set. See photo
I think the confusion on fit is in model years. The '65-'68 Galaxies have more forgiveness in suspension adjustment than '64- older. You do have to either shave the control arm a bit for the tie rod or get a tie rod outer for the '77. I ahven't had any issues with it and it aligned up fine on my car with adjustment to spare either way. I have heard the drop issue too but it doesn't seem to have affected my car. MAYBE an inch? but the old springs are as likely the cause for that. again it is most likely a difference in model years, the frame mounts being just that bit different even if the rest is the same.
