As you know from my Frankenstein post I recent got a set of new headers for my Mustang. I had seen them listed in a Mustang specific catalog, saying they would fit 65-70 Mustang. Rather than getting them from the Mustang supply place I ordered them from summit racing because they were $30.00 less and the handling fee would only be about $10.00. After I ordered them I was doing a little more research on headman's web site and according to them the headers I had ordered were for the application of a 69 and up Mustang. I called Summit back but the order had already shipped. I had explained to the guy that I had ordered the wrong headers because of some bad info I had gotten from a Mustang site. The guy on the phone said, "no problem if you want to order a different set summit will cover the shipping back of the incorrect headers." I new I was going to have to modify which ever set I ended up with so I asked the guy if I could look at both sets and then return the one that would not be the best for my application, he said, "sure I will add it to the notes." So I got both sets of headers and it turned out the original ones I ordered were correct. the reason they were not listed for an early Mustang is that they do not clear the z-bar on manual cars. Any way I called summit back and explained what had happened before and the lady I talked to said, there is a not in the file I will email you the return shipping label. To make it even better I got my credit card statement and I wasn't even charged shipping or handling on the second set of headers when they shipped them to me. With todays economy it seams like more and more places are less concerned with customer service and more concerned with the bottom line, but not summit racing. They took care of me and have a customer for life!!!!
If it aint broke..... modify it anyway!!!!
