Slow steady progress is still being made after work each day. Daze gave me a good tip about using 3M double sided foam tape for applying trim. Works GREAT! 
The paint color shows pretty good here too. Just installed front fender emblems though they are not the originals from this car. I bought them on eBay because they are made for the Galaxies/Custom models with no fender trim.
Now a few questions about trim prep before reinstalling onto the car. 
Once I have the letters cleaned up, I will back them with 3M tape as mentioned above. Should I spray them with CLEAR spray paint prior to installing as a way to prevent further corrosion? Maybe just a coat of car finish? (I use Nu-Finish and like it a lot.)
Lastly, take note of the "500" emblems and how the black has worn off. It is also worn off the GALAXIE letters. What type of paint works best for that? Any suggestions?
