need help

my 66 galaxie was running fine. then all of a sudden it wouldn't start. the battery is full all connections are clean. when i try to jump the starter solenoid it sparks, and doesn't even try to turn the motor over. is my solenoid bad or is it some kind of gound issue? what should i do? thanks
