I am going through yhis right now on a 63 1/2 .I have found that you can use a water d/a and 180 grit hook and loop disc and sand the anodizing off ,then lightly sand with 400 wet and then polish on a medium coarse wheel with green compound and finish on soft wheel with white compound. Wash with soap and water ,mask and paint indent with simi-gloss and it looks great. If your car is kept inside it should stay shiney with a little mothers now and then. If kept outside maybe use ZOOPS, I've heard this stuff works just kind of expensive.
