OK, here's my question.
Does anyone with a 66 Galaxie have mag rims on the rear and is there an issue with tire rub in the rear?
I have some nice vintage rims that I want to use but I am afraid of the tires rubbing the inner surface of the rear quarter.
The front rims are 15 X 7 with 3.5 inches of backspacing and seem to be fine. They look like they will clear the fenders without rubbing.
It's the rear ones I'm worried about. They are 15 X 8.5 with 3.5 inches of backspacing. The tires are P235/70SR15.
One look at the photo of the rims on my parts car, and you can see that the tires look like they will rub.
I plan to get some new tires in a 60 series profile, so that may help a bit too.
So if you have mag rims on the rear of your 66 or 67, what backspacing do you recommend?
