When posting a question about your Galaxie or other Ford (all are welcome), BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to accurately answer questions.

As I said in a previous post, "When I started driving the car I noticed an issue when driving with the RPM at about 2K. The car would buck until I gave it a little more gas. I am 99% sure I have a vacuum leek at the intake. Since I have a 4-barrel intake and several 4-barrel carbs in my garage I might as well upgrade. Should be a fun project"
I did the swap on Thursday and Friday of this past week. I only had about 3 hours to work on thursday and in that time I was able to get the "new" intake on and torqued down, but I did not have time to hook up the carb. An hour the next morning, was all it took to get it all put together and working.
There is not much difference between the before and after pix except the hint of aluminum and of course the carb
Before
After
The difference is night and day!!!!! not only does the car run better, have way more power, and more throttle response, but it now also runs cooler which was something I was concerned about as it had been running a little hotter than I wanted it to. Right now it has the Edelbrock performer series carb, but I also have an autolite 4100 series carb that I have ordered a rebuild kit for so I will probably kit that and throw it on the car just to see how it compares to the Edelbrock.
