I have heard the "why does this happen" explanation and you are right. The insurance jobs pay better and get priority. All that aside, I was fed up with his promises to get work done and then make excuses. He never 'fessed up to the fact that he was giving it low priority to take better jobs. Had he simply said, "hey, I got to do these other jobs first because that's how things gotta work around here" I'd have been more patient.
What happened was that my car was being used as storage space for other car parts, being pushed around the shop and getting dustier by the day, getting sanded a bit here and there and then flash rust after a week so that it had to be sanded all over again in the same spots.
STOP! This is turning into another RANT!!!
What color? Hmmmmm. I will keep that under my hat for now.
But I hope you like it.
Paint first. Then the front and back glass. Then home for windows. I am a bit scared that I will never get the beltline fuzzies 'cause they have been on backorder for 3 months now.
Then the freshly rebuilt (Pony Carbs) Autolite 4100. Vrooooomm. Then the car gets trim and bumpers. Interior is last. My headliner has been ruined in all this mess, so that depressed me too.
I'll collect some photos for a nice post within the next 2 weeks.
