I have a bad case of the grumps!
Had my car running, found a body shop with very good references and the price was in budget. DROVE the car there in late March. Shop manager seemed very interested in getting right to work on my car and he did for about 2 weeks.
Then it got moved around for another 7 weeks with virtually nothing being done. He was working on other cars but not mine.
I found other car parts laying on the roof of my car, flash rust where they had sanded and then did nothing. To top it off they broke my windshield through pure negligence. Layed it down on the trunk of another car with the outside UP and then put my back glass on top of it. Yep, cracked it right down the middle. Then came a promise to replace it.
We had a little "talk", just the 2 of us, about when he would resume work on my car. We agreed on dates and how much would be done by May 28th. Then about 4 more weeks of "it will be in primer by . . . . ." but it never happened.
He didn't keep any of his promises.
I'd been taking photos of my car every 2 weeks or so to show the progress.
Then I got sneaky.
I asked him to pull it out of the shop so I could get more photos of it in the sun.
Once it was out of the shop, I rolled it off the property and called a rollback to take it to the new shop. The manager complained that I had done him wrong. Baloney! He lied to me for weeks on end. Two weeks have gone by since then and I actually just got back with more photos.
I need to move on from being angry at people who are dishonest and focus on the car. The car makes me smile but the knuckleheads who I have encountered along the way have nearly made me give it up.
Sorry for the RANT.
So here is the car in the new shop. It's coming along nicely!
