No the later model units have outboard brakes. On my Galaxie IRS project I am going to install the outboard brakes from a newer Jaguar. On an XJ6 the IRS unit originally comes in a self containing cage making the inboard brakes a pain to work on, but sense I am not using the cage it should not be an issue. I will use the cage on the Galaxie and that is why I am going with the outboard discs
