My previous owner story.

Previous owner cut a hole in the tunnel of my 66 Galaxie 500 and swapped in a toploader 4 speed MT for the FMX AT (although my reference book say it is an FX). Not a bad idea except he never got it to work right. Daze explained that the "shimmy" problem was due to a shorter input shaft. Thankfully, he saved the metal from the "hole" and it will be welded back before I put the motor and AT back in the car. The unfortunate decision mentioned above probably cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 30+ man hours and perhaps several hunderd dollars, all for naught.
