Just 4 days to go !
Today is the first view of the 5 day forecast and it looks good, heavy showers tomorrow followed by sunshine and light showers for the next 3 days thereafter.
That will stop the track drying out too much, hot sunshine is great for the sun loving spectators but you get the best racing when there is no need to water the track !
Knowing the dry Essex weather we probably wont get any showers at all on the Sunday anyway !
Wind is expected to be a light 8 mph, for those that choose to sit on the top of the hill that will be pleasant, it can be a bit blowy up there.
The top of the hill is the most popular viewing place, but actually you will probably get the best view of the track from the area close to the spectator entrance, from there you can see all of the track, if you are not on the apex of the hill you can get a blind spot on the dips !
For anyone arriving on the Friday or the Saturday (or staying overnight on the Sunday) and wanting to have a look around the area then maybe have a look at

The Under 21 Competition
This consists of 4 legs, 8 riders in each race and 3 races each leg. The top 16 go through to the Semi Finals and the top 8 go through to the Final. All races 4 laps. Point to count all the way through. If a tie on points for the winner then the winner of the Final will decide.
The first three machines will be subject to final examination which will include Engine measurement o the day. It is the competitors responsibility to strip the head off the engine to enable measurement to take place. All machines that finish in the final will have to go to a parc ferme in the centre of the track for a minimum of 30 minutes after the competition result has been announced.
Scrutineering will take place from 10.30am and all carburretors that will be used should be presented for checking, they will be marked.
We are pleased to announce that it is a true under 21 competition this year (it has sometimes been extended to include older riders) Riders like Tom Perryand Michael Bovis will be eyeing the opposition up in readiness for next year !
Overall Race programme is 48 races.
