The Cane Corso was Made up because of Neapolitan Mastiff that really can't work. People wanted a working Mastiffs so the dogs was breed up with Neapolitan mastiff, Original Bulldogs, Some Rottweiler. Real People call them Dry Mouth Neapolitan Mastiff. It was dog that can Hunt, Weight pull and Personal Protection work. These dogs are great Watch dogs and understand family. The Cane Corso is Rare Breed Molosser Dogs that came from Neapolitan Mastiff Breeders that wanted working Mastiffs. So it is really not hard to understand most rare breed was made up and now pure breeds because of line breeding and in breeding to get the Original way to come out.
