ZAKR
Attack 1REALISM: 3/5 -1 I'm not sure why Zakr speeds up so much to meet her, when he has to stop and rear to execute his attack. This kills all his forward momentum. -1 The shoulder is quite a high target to reach - with Saphira's height advantage especially, I don't think Zakr could get high enough to actually start doing damage until he's about halfway down. That's assuming he can keep his balance long enough to keep leaning into her. POWER: 3/5 I think you could have done a lot more here. You can gain a lot of power with momentum, yet as I said before, he has to slide to a stop and rear before attacking anyway. A lower target and use of some of this speed would have made this a more powerful attack. This target is also quite high - the starting distance and the point of contact is too close to be truly effective. You gained a point back here with the combo though. TIMING: 4/5 She would have ample time to at least pivot away if Zakr has to stop and rear like this. CREATIVITY BONUS: +0 ZAKR
Attack 2REALISM: 4/5 -1 This doesn't work as well if you're both moving at the same speed. She could very well run right past while Zakr takes his time to set up the attack. Both take only seconds, and in motion, you don't have seconds to spare. POWER: 5/5 A solid hit would certainly mean some bone-crunching... ok maybe not against weakness-less Saphira BUT you get the point... TIMING: 3/5 Again, I have a hard time envisioning this will hit anything if she's in motion. It would take some insta-kicking. A quicker attack would have been more effective here, even if you are counting on her being slightly injured. CREATIVITY BONUS: +0 SAPHIRA
Defense 1REALISM: 4/5 -1 I find the angles a bit dangerous for her here - if her head and neck are entirely underneath his forelegs, what stops him from crashing down on her neck and putting her in very real danger? Very risky. DAMAGE: 4/5 -1 I'm not sure how he hits her far shoulder but also her near (?) foreleg. What happens to her head and neck? They have to fit in somehow. If he is hitting these targets, his chest must be coming down right over her head, leaving her open to a very strained neck or worse. TIMING: 5/5 CREATIVITY BONUS: +1 Can we say sexy? I like the combination with the counter here . SAPHIRA
Defense 2REALISM: 5/5 DAMAGE: 5/5 TIMING: 5/5 CREATIVITY BONUS: +0 SAPHIRA
Attack 1REALISM: 4/5 -1 You list off the many things that can lame a horse if there is an injury to their front leg, yet Saphira is injured twice/thrice(?) on hers and is cantering with only a minor limp. POWER: 3/5 I really don't like that she purposefully attacks with an injured leg here. She could just as easily deal a couple blows with her healthy leg. I know she is strong to Zakr, but this is going to exasperate her existing injuries without doubt. You gained a point back for using combo, else this would be 2/5. TIMING: 4/5 In order to kick first with one leg and then the other, she would need to turn and rearrange her position. CREATIVITY BONUS: +0 SAPHIRA
Attack 2REALISM: 3/5 -1 You have not mentioned the injury to her rear since it was dealt. I know it was minor, as her air is soothing the wound, but it still needs to effect her somehow, especially when executing an attack like this. -1 I don't think the underside of his girth is reachable, as any underbelly target is not. A double barrel kick like this is made more horizontally than 'diagonally'; for maximum power, a horse lifts its rear and then kicks out straight as in my favorite video here XD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZJf_4HkyU0 -- I wasn't going to link this but after youtubing this to make sure I knew what the heck I was talking about, I found it hilarious you could watch the slowmo. That kick could kill man. But it couldn't go underneath a horse - it would hit the side of the girth or ribs or what have you. POWER: 4/5 With her injuries this likely won't be as powerful as if she was healthy and delivering this punch. TIMING: 5/5 I think this is plausible but be careful of the very tight timing in here. CREATIVITY BONUS: +0 ZAKR
Subtotal: 52/60Elemental Score: 0 Bonus Points: 1 I liked how you clearly defined the weather and its effects on Zakr before your attacks. As a judge this is immensely helpful. Penalties: -1 That being said, after the weather is mentioned in the first paragraph, I don't see it again. Not only is the wind blowing - air, your nemesis - but it's cold. You mention Saphira's air being a factor, but this eyeball-freezing wind doesn't seem to be a problem after the battle starts. FINAL SCORE: 22/30 (73%) SAPHIRA
Subtotal: 52/60Elemental Score: 1 For elemental advantage Bonus Points: 1 For excellent use of elements without being super horse Penalties: -1 You also do not mention the weather after an initial reference. I know Saphira is not weak to any element, but that doesn't mean she can't get cold or that she doesn't need to pay attention to the direction of the wind. FINAL SCORE: 53/60 (88%) By my judgment, SAPHIRA is the winner! If the rogue was fighting FOR another herd, Ni'Srilan owes that herd a prisoner. Otherwise, this will count as a regular in-kingdom battle. Nice fight ladies - I wish I could have read the finish!
