-1 Shying on this ground may not be the brightest of ideas as it would be hard to get purchase beneath it without jaring your own legs unless you somehow melted the frozen ground beneath you which I see no mention made about. -1 Solid ground is only going to hurt you more, it's like cantering on pavement. you can easily trip up and it's very unforgiving.
