Current Weather [11/10 - Present]: The storm has stopped, but there is a foot of snow remaining. Visibility has improved and the wind has died completely. The sun on the snow is still rather bright though, and will be a great distraction when not at close quarters. Footing is still slick but the temperature has warmed to about 32 F (0 C).
Cold. The hindering bustle and push of the wind had been taken away from the proximity of a the Krieg, subsided almost as though it were taking my side for once. Because, honestly, though my opponent could summon the water to his will, there was a far less chance of me being dominated when conditions weren't as favourable as they could be for him. In this case, I was safer, and far more secure in the environment I had gotten to know so well. The snow that coated the ground fastly was still slick, providing little grip for sliding hooves, though I managed fairly well to walk into the battle grounds because of my small size, and agile movements. My wounds had been healed from the previous fight with Ethereal, and so I was in no way worried for them breaking open again as they had in another battle of mine.
The visibility in the Krieg had become much more merciful; I could see much farther into the distance, though another prominent issue was the hue of the snow. Because of its water-based substance, and the position of the solarity above my head, it reflected a great deal of white, sometimes forging a blindness in my eyes in certain positions.
As I pushed further into the Krieg, a form stood, waiting, and I knew at once I had discovered my opponent. I had not the time to be thinking petty thoughts and wondering why- no, how a Water horse would wish to challenge me. Ah, but the world is obscene sometimes, and right now, I have business to tend.
”Alphamagnetism” It seemed as though the world shook. However, it was not the earth that was shifting, losing its steadfast hold on everything. It was the electricity in the electromagnetic field; one of the fundamental sources of nature, along the likes of gravity, etc. Only this particular section I was altering was the ground force for stability; I was consuming all the electricity in the proximity of our little battle, and thus the magnetism of the electromagnetic field would go haywire. Without the natural pull of the forever-stationary electrons in the field, they would move into a frenzy, nagging and pulling viciously on the nervous system's sensibility and ability to move certainly. It was my own body that now pulsed with the stricken energy of the electricity from the field; because I was electric, the pull of the magnetism had no effect on me, for I could control it to an extent. Should my opponent try to escape it by means of moving any which way, they shall be pulled, as though blown off by a gust of wind. Should they attack me now, a powerful shock may enter them, a painful shock that will slowly ebb after a couple minutes. With the extra bonus of my opponent's being the Water element, it will be all the more painful, and any touch I deliver to them has the potential of terminal paralysis in that body part for a certain period of time. The stallion before me will be struggling to move for a while, and is in a bad position.
At this point it would be, clearly, unwise to distribute too much speed to my pace (because of the damned snow) as I formed a two-beat with my caramel dun legs; slow and steady would surely win the race, as loping would be stupid. However, I made sure to still move with a long stride, to maintain enough power in momentum, to earn an advantage. The snow was slippery beneath my hooves, but I managed to find purchase with smart footing and stepping carefully, every so often checking the direction of my steps. From my startoff, I had directed myself towards Vurtne's front, not chancing any moves nor offbeat steps, nothing to reveal my attack, not purposely anyways. Perhaps the stallion may believe I was going to deek out at the last moment, thunder towards his side and try a hit on him; but as I came within seven paces of Vurtne, I allowed my Lightning to surge secretly down to my front hooves. Three, two, one... and I skidded to a halt, rearing up just in front of the stallion; my electricity-laced hooves reached up, their momentum-powered attack aiming for the northern section of the humerous bone. With the Lightning powered shock thundering through my hooves, should the attack land, a section of the Brachiocephalus, the large tendon that powers the forelegs forwards and originates from the Temporal bone in the skull, down through the chest to the humerous would become stricken with pain. It would nullify- even paralyze- the ability to move with ease, and would probably heavily bruise the area, making it difficult to use heavy attacks with the front legs for a while. Should Vurtne decide to move away from my assault by flinching to the ride with a swing and pivot, the area he is putting at risk then is the upper phase of the elbow and ribcage, the ulna being a major joint that could become damaged with a worthy blow, followed by electricity that could numb the Brachialis, a critical tendon that helps extend the elbow.
If Vurtne attempted to evade my assault by shifting the other direction, the same result could be liable to occur on his right side; backing up was a severe time-consumer, as it would take a strong bout of concentration to move the legs backwards properly without losing balance. It takes a large fraction more of time to walk backwards than forwards- which would be foolish as he is giving me a closer range, though my hit would be less powerful.
Rearing up to meet my attack would place his entire front at risk, giving me more access; I could then land the rare hit to his lower forelimb, such as the metacarpal, or pasterns. Then, the radius would be put at risk because of flailing limbs and my direction to hit near his front, where they would be lifted. Should my attack meet no obstacles, however, chances are my hooves would still hit their mark, powerfully scarring his chest area.
After resigning from my rear, I landed back to the ground, stumbling slightly as my right hoof slid in a muddy, snowy precipice on the Krieg's landscape. This cost me a few precious seconds, but in my opponent's predicament, it probably had little consequence. Regaining my stability, I turned to the left, after hopefully sending pain along his left side somewhere, or at least the centre of his muscular chest. As I brushed by him, the electricity I had still flowing through my body sparked him- it was hardly anything more than a common shock, such as the static charge you receive after shuffling socks on the carpet, and touching metal. Still enough to make ya wince, I'm thinking, though it was Vurtne's barrel it had jumped from, whether I wanted it to happen or not.
I changed my position so my hindquarters were facing his right forelimbs, taking little time to halt and position my forelegs out before me. With a heave and a growl, I hefted my legs, electricity still thrumming in my hooves, and aimed blindly for the hind area of his upper forelimb with a double barrel kick. Hopefully, the attack would hit the back of the ulna or along the ribcage, for then he would need to put more wait on his left side to evade the attack; which, I also hoped, had taken enough damage to hurt like hell.
Should Vurtne shy away from my attack and shift his hind area further into view, my hooves could still land heavily on the back of the femur if I was lucky, or the pelvis could be jarred through impact. Not to mention his gluteus profundus, the muscle required to help rotate the leg inwards, would be bruised and aching, numbed by my wonderful Lightning III. But, if Vurtne wanted instead to move towards my attack by pivoting towards me, his chest would once again be put at danger, and the upper half of his right forlimb.
He could always surge forwards in the unsure footing that he could slip in- to escape such a blow would be to lope, and doing so in this weather would be unwise, as he could slip easily. However, should he do so despite this, he is putting his ribcage in my full view, which is strong but still vulnerable; if Vurtne moves fast enough, I could land my hind hooves into his stifle region, though that is if he is superhorse and can take off like a shot.
After my hind legs regained their touch to the earth, I reduced my electricity slightly, stalking away in a walk, and then turning to face the other stallion. What do you have up your sleeve, kid?
