Emotion did not register on the palomino's golden face - disinterest settled there, an air of disaffection surrounding him like a plague and causing the silver-haired titan - with hooves like stone and a facade to match - to watch Alcatraz with something approaching nonchalance.
If Zakr's little lightning-bug thought himself intimidating (and perhaps he was, within the impermeable fortress of Zakr's arrogant mind) then perhaps this battle would be a disappointment to him. In any case, Zakr approached the battlefield at a canter despite the snow lurking underfoot - he was quite capable of running without slipping, thank you, and yes his earth did help to steady him and partially solidify the ground beneath his hooves. He can do that. Look it up. He could also make the flowers dance for you (should any remain alive beneath the chill blanket of snow), but that wasn't really his style.
And his earth rumbled and swayed with him as Zakr approached, and when Blitzstrahl hit him like a jackhammer his earth was there to steady him. Zakr drew to a halt, his dark eyes showing no emotion (probably because he was too shocked - ha, it's a pun - to show any pain). Pain did surge through his body however, in great sickening jolts, and his earth protested the weaker element infusing his body. Zakr did not close his eyes, however - he probably couldn't have, every muscle in his body seemed to no longer belong to him but to some kind of sick puppet master - and he saw Alcatraz approaching, although his brain was slow to register the implications of this concept. His earth, however, infuriated as it was by the invasion of this foreign element, leaped to his defense. Springing forth from seeming nonexistence was black metal, tougher than steel, that flowed to cover the front of Zakr's forelegs, from the knee to the hoof. Typically there would be a break in the metal at his joints, however Zakr did not need to move - this was his defense, and the metal solidified and hardened immediately, just as Alcatraz's hooves struck the pastern.
Now, unfortunately for Zakr, metal conducts electricity; so while the black metal clung to his skin the lightning swarming his body from Blitzstrahl flowed to that spot, concentrated on his legs. The smell of burnt hair permeated the air, and Zakr grunted in pain. Besides the burn, Alcatraz's attack caused a bruise to form at the point of impact - however, the metal had done wonders to protect Zakr's leg from the actual force of the blow. There would be no broken bones today.
Blitzstrahl ended and Zakr felt himself regaining control immediately - thanks, again, to his earth that sneered so condescendingly at Alcatraz's petty, flitting lightning. He began to move, limping slightly on his left leg but wincing at the burnt skin that covered both of his legs. He was no mind reader, however, and had not know exactly where Alcatraz would attack - the extra cover had been necessary, even if it stung.
Alcatraz was moving past Zakr and the silver warrior began to move as well, forwards - did Alcatraz expect him to stand still, when the effects of his Blitzstrahl were so quickly chased away, trumped by his eternal earth? Zakr, as always only guessing at Alcatraz's intentions, knew that if a warrior whose turn it was to attack moved parallel but opposite to their adversary, what could they be planning but to kick? And by moving forwards even as Alcatraz was sliding past his barrel (while Zakr's earth greedily drank in the lightning) Zakr put enough distance between them that Alcatraz's kick, when it did come, was significantly less powerful than he assumed. The hoof struck the back of his knee, and Zakr jerked forward as his leg partially buckled. He slipped, and as he did pulled a muscle somewhere within his right foreleg, and felt a bruise immediately forming where Alcatraz had struck. Unfortunately for the lightning warrior, by then Zakr was too far away for the combo attack to be effective.

YOU'RE THE REASON I NEED MEDICATION
[Judge: As a note, I ignored the part of Alcatraz's second attack that stated he "shocked" Zakr because of the rules outlined on this page.]
