Ok the following I’d like to know more about.
Realism: 3/5;
-1 because Alcatraz is not rising very high, he’s only attacking your knee (your heights aren’t SO different for this to be an enormous deal), and therefore your target is unrealistic – you would be more likely to be injured, because his hooves would act as a buffer between you and he and they would hurt you more than the collision would shock him
-1 because where you took damage is unrealistic. I’m sorry, I just honestly don’t see how she could come away with a forearm injury when he’s got a split-second ahead of her (she isn’t a mind reader) and at the angles they are… it just doesn’t make a lot of sense. I could understand a knee injury like he intended, or perhaps lower, but you’re expecting him to be much higher than he said he was. Also, a sliding attack would be as bad as a slam in different ways; the damage would be less localized, the bruise would be more likely to affect more nerves and muscle movements, and the swelling would be more generalized.
Ok Alcatraz is only 15 hands. Saphira is 17. There is an 8 inch height difference between them. In order to strike at her knee with his hoof, and get enough force behind it, he would need to rise over the limb. So saying that Saphira’s knee is about...14-16 inches off the ground, so over a foot, he would need to rise over 2 feet (about the height of the levade like she said) that is certainly high enough to ram into his knees about Saphira’s forearm height. And I did state that his hooves slide down the slide of her leg anyway, just above the knee. Not a real shift in position there.
Damage: 3/5; Again, you do not take enough damage in the face of what would be an intensely painful hit (-1). Getting kicked like she did would be like getting kicked in the shin by an extremely good soccer player, and would impact her movements more significantly than she allows it to (-1).
Saphira moved closer to Alcatraz. So close in fact that they are touching. Such a close distance would severely limit the range of motion needed to even expel his leg at the hip. In truth, it might even prevent the cow-kick from happening. However, given that we can’t do that, his leg only manages to really slide down her leg, not get the snap outwards at it. Which I explain in my post.
Power: 3/5; I just don’t get a sense of power from this. It would injure Saphira as much as it would injure Alcatraz, which definitely lessens its power(-1), and the way it is described makes it seem more like a forceful bump than anything lasting(-1).
I would like to know how ramming into someone off the push of a canter stride would not do anything lasting? It would have the full force of her weight behind it, around 1200 pounds, perhaps more. And given the fact that he is in the air, no matter even if it is only about 2 feet, it would still make him take way too much added weight on his haunches. And pulling a muscle in his haunches or groin would not be a very good idea hindering all hind end movement.
Power: 3/5; This is not a very powerful attack. It sounds like she’s just sort of swiping at the knee, and in reality unless she had some leverage she wouldn’t do much damage this way. Horses aren’t designed to be able to kick hard with their front legs.
Saphira is beside him, slightly behind. She kicks him in the back of the knee. How on earth is that not devastating? Even if she missed that target, to hit him in the back of the cannon, fetlock or pastern she could easily break it, or at least cause such severe swelling he would have a horrible limp. And yet you say it sounds like just a swipe? She’s not just extending a leg on the end of a stride. They aren’t moving. Meaning she has enough time to expel the leg with force. And if forelegs can’t realistically do much damage, then everyone who does attacks with their forelegs is screwed. Because honestly, everyone does them, and in much the same fashion as this.
So yeah… those are my concerns.
