Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
…I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is great
And would suffice.
(Defense 2, attack 1)
As Char’s defense movement would place Zakr in a unexpected location following his attack, Zakr would be forced to distance himself from Char’s yet immobile body, and additionally, reposition himself by a pivot in order to be able to reach for and strike at Char’s hock. It is in this second laspe of time and break of action that Char, though unknowingly, enacted his second defense. As Zakr began this movement of repositioning in order to carry out the described attack, Char reflectively moved according to Zakr--though clumsily and slowly due to his pain--angling himself in a parallel to Zakr, in which he was facing him. The first strike of Zakr’s attack was in this situation actually able to land impact on Char’s right rear leg, on the exterior portion of his tarsal bone, due to Char’s slowness. However, the impact was extremely brief, and due to the fact that the directional movements of Zakr’s and Chars legs were not similar, the impact was light and would only result in minor pain and possible bruising on the tendon. Another limp, but nothing remotely disabling.
As Char’s movement, though slow, was in a much more collected state, he was in a suitable position for an attack. As Zakr made a second strike of an intended series, which was voluntary in light of his intentions and the swiftly changing scene, Char raised himself into a rear, though low in light of his conditions of pain in both his right shoulder and rear leg. But in consideration of Zakr’s lower upper body and head as necessary by the attack Zakr was performing, the height of Char’s rear would be sufficient. Important to note in this upcoming attack, is that while Char would be forced to refrain from placing any considerable amount of weight onto his right forelimb, he was completely capable of this coming strike as it required no pressure. What Char did, was extend each of his forelegs, almost fully extended, out towards Zakr’s face, and then with as exact precision as possible, place his left hoof above Zakr’s left eye, and his right beside the upper portion of his nasal bone. Upon reaching this position, which would be instantaneous, Char snaped his forelegs into a bend that even regardless of placement, would cause his left hoof to collide with Zakr’s face, assumedly with Zakr’s left eye socket and brow bone, and his right hoof with Zakr’s nasal bone close to the nostril. Although this attack certainly has the ability to both blind Zakr in his left eye and shatter the both the delicate thoroughbred bones surrounding the eye socket and left side of his nasal bone, thereby somewhat impairing his breathing, The impact alone, if only made by the power of legs (which mind you, carry approximately 1100 pounds) would cause extreme shock and disorientation of the senses. Thereby, actually slowing Zakr’s response time and reflexes for at least the duration of time it would take for Char to perform his next attack Now, such an attack would seem ridiculous in the fact that Zakr, if fully capable, would be able to simply move his head to avoid such a precise attack. But let us consider that Zakr had just completed an attack where both of his forelimbs were elevated, and so his center of gravity, and therefore balance, is at this moment non-existent. Should he move his neck to change the location of his head, it would require such force at his present state that he would immediately be stripped of his balance and standing position, and be forced to fall into the ground, which would render him almost immediately defeated as Char could then attack in a manner of ways that would impose truly paralyzing damage. As it is, Char’s attack is indeed sound.
Attack 2
Now, As Char’s attack might have: one, forced Zakr to move himself to his right, and therefore Char’s left, as to avoid the further injury Char would cause in his descent from his rear with his legs extended: two, move to the right to attempt to minimize any damage for his first attack, if possible: and three, move to the right out of pure reflex. In any of these very likely cases, Char would be left in the same position, with Zakr slightly angled towards Char’s left with a large proportion of Zakr’s upper body accordingly angled towards Char. Thereby providing easy access to Zakr’s left shoulder. A limb for a limb. In the time that Char would take to return his forelegs to the ground, and the time it would take for Zakr to make this angle, regardless of his intentions after doing so, Char would have enough time to again raise into a low rear. Also, there would be an optimal amount of space between himself and Zakr in order for Char to extend his forelegs forwards towards the exact serratus ventralis muscles Zakr had injured on Char, himself. Only this time, Char uses force in his attack, pushing himself forward into Zakr with his hind legs with an amount of power equaling approximately 500 pounds, as the mass of his body would render. Perhaps Zakr is fully consciously alert after the last attack--despite what would be apparent of his inability to prevent even the highest amount of damage possible--to gain enough ground during the very short period of time Char would require to execute his attack, and therefore only receive damage to the ribs or other area of the body. But remember the amount of weight behind the attack and even the minor amount of damage it can inflict in such prime conditions. (which of course is nothing special, just the weight associated with the movement of a horse)
And with this, Char is complete in his allotment of execution in both defense and attack. Save for Zakr’s defense, the battle is over. He returns himself to a standing position, suffering the injuries, and waits. A amused smile, polite despite the situation, and confident, playing across his lips.
