Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
…I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is great
And would suffice.
Char ignored the earth he stood on; it was firm, optimal for his endeavors, there was no further need for calculation. Char too, had come without fanfare, and he had waited for Zakr in blasé and casual nonchalance, observing his approach in austere ease.
Yes, Zakr, it is true that you attempt to fight an animal older than you. As there have been no clearly defined statistics on his age, only that it is beyond the reaches of ten, let us for the sake of preciseness, label him as 11. But as we do so, let us also take note that he is a mere year older than yourself, being 10. And in light of this clarification, let us analyze your exclamation about the degenerative process of the equine body. First, brittleness of bones. In your case, thoroughbred, it is well known among the equine world of the particular delicacy of the light and thin thoroughbred bones evolved and adapted for speed. Even should Char’s warmblood bones, in the difference of a year, had experienced a notable decay, a comparison to yours would regardless render the bones of his holsteiner/hanovarian-esq. skeletal physique as stronger, more sufficiently robust to withstand fatigue, hardship, or adverse physical conditions. Let us move on to reflexes and corresponding mental reaction processes. To be fair, the effects of one year on the mind, even equine, would of course exist. However, let us also consider that horses on average live to between 25 and 30 years. Accordingly, it must be taken into consideration that as Char is merely eleven, and therefore only slightly about 1/3 over his estimated range of lifespan, in which mental disintegration does not begin to make an apparent presence well into the last third of the lifespan, it may be ruled out that his mind is slowing enough to impact his reflexes in this immediate fight. Zakr, please do not allow this response to appear to have ruled authoritatively and critically against your judgment, as in most cases you argument would appear quite sound. But it must be illuminated for sake of fairness, that that society of this nation is incredibly young, for whatever reason. Very few of its inhabitants have reached even the middle age of 15, and what rare ones have, have progressed only a very small amount of time beyond. Any individual would only make judgments according to common knowledge, and in your place, your knowledge was common and therefore, quite sound. My apologies forced being for to contradict you, and in such length.
Now let us compare the two individuals physically for a moment.
Char, stated as eleven, is a warmblood, and yes, therefore with the advantage of agility and strength over Zakr. But at a disadvantage at speed, which will not be argued despite the fact that Char’s breeding is in fact very similar to a thoroughbred’s, though slightly more sturdier. He is also taller, lets state at 16.3 hands, though this differentiation is too slight to have much effect in comparison to Zakr’s 16.1 hands. However, the mass of Char’s broader girth and skeletal/muscle weight would be a much greater measurement of power and force. Therefore, In this particular battle, Char will attempt to use these advantage of weight, agility, and power in his attacks and defense.
Enough droning.
(defense 1, injury result 1)
As described of Zakr’s speed, being so great it would be impossible to react in enough time to change the placement of the player on the field, it must be so that Char stood immobile as Zakr rushed towards him from behind. However, at the moments preceding when Zakr halted his pace, according to the physics of momentum and Equine anatomy capabilities, Zakr would be required to slow his stride if only slightly before his halt in order to refrain from causing himself injury. Additionally, in raising his torso into a rear, which given, he would be advantageously capable of due to the force of said momentum and his light weight, another small amount of time would separate the approach from the attack. It is in this space of time that Char propels his body backwards, his legs moving rapidly and sloppily, underneath and into Zakr’s raised abdomen, so that it would appear as if Zakr was mounting him. Zakr’s attack, regardless, was not stopped and his forelegs (I’m assuming? Unclear in post) that had been intended to strike Char’s right loin, instead were in this position forced to come down, and slide along the slenderer area of impact being his slightly above the location of his right shoulder, in close proximity to his withers. Initial impact in his position would be of little consequence regardless of power, as this is one of the most dexterous place of the equine body, and such an attack would result in nothing more than severe muscle bruising and pain, and as muscles attach only to the shoulder here, only pain in movement would result, nothing hindering. However, the power of Zakr’s attack forced his impact, though accidentally, to slide all the way down the side of Char’s shoulder towards his scapula. Layering this area of his shoulder are the Serratus ventralis muscles: including the serratus cervicus, which originates from the final 4-5 cervical vertebrae and inserts into the scapula, and the serratus thoracis, which originates on the lateral side of the first 8-9 ribs and inserts into the scapula. The two muscles are antagonists to each other, with the serratus cervicus pulling the scapula towards the neck, and the serratus thoracis pulling the scapula away from the neck. They help move the forelimb forward and back. In consequence, Zakr’s attack caused extreme strain to each of these muscles as his hooves collided with and moved on to slide over them as his body returned to the ground. In effect, Char experienced extreme pain at the strain in the tendons that would cause any forward movement to be excruciating and result in a limp. Doubled with the pain in his upper shoulder it would seem as if he would be paralyzed. But in hope, Char’s movement, though incredibly painful due to the impact of Zakr’s attack, would otherwise only experience a partial performance paralyzing hindrance regarding forward movement.
