As i see it the forum has three options for it's future which are: 1) Complete shut down 2) Carry on in it's present format 3) To be taken on and run by a fully independent supporters club to be used in whichever capacity it's committee and membership think best. For me personally the third option makes the most sense, as if any supporters club can show to it's potential membership (us) that it is a truly independent body then that will surely become a more attractive & respected outfit to join, helping us move both Bash and the SC on. Bashnet and the open forum in that role could quite happily live side by side without anyone seeing things into it that simply are not there which seems to be happening to a couple of posters at the moment. Each would have it's own role to play and compliment each other, can anybody else think of a measure that would see ALL Bash fans have a truly independent voice Independent supporters clubs and fansites are not rare in our league and the higher you go through the pyramid more the norm it becomes. Quite honestly in my view if we want to see the club grow and prosper then measures like this need to be taken as a matter of course, Truebash made a very good point in that Pete has made bashnet one of the most comprehensive & best sites in the league if not the best in the league, by the same token do we not need any SC that we might have to evolve onto the same levels as our contemporaries at other clubs? If the supporters club is wholly immersed with Bashnet any independent tag becomes harder to justify in my view. I would like to see the open forum being only one part of our SC online, if we could tag on in future a mini site alongside it detailing all the activities, application forms monies raised etc then it could become a real boon for the club as a whole and yet a strong independent voice that works FORBash. Thats my view if anyone fancies making the case for the other options go for it, hopefully the debate will go on until a general concensus is obvious (two or three days?) and then i'll happily go along with whatever that is. Sorry in not making it a poll as that would have been simpler but as it is an open forum i did not want this being decided by outside influences, it's much better that our fans decide their future themselves rather than someone from Biggleswade Town decide. Pete is fully aware of this post and is more than welcome to post any view on it that he might have, this is and has not ever been an us and them thing - we are just watching our club grow.
