Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI) recently introduced HR 3501, entitled "Humanity and Pets Partnered Through the Years Act". This landmark legislation would permit pet owners to deduct up to $3500 from their taxable income for qualified expenses they incurred in providing care for their pets.
PetPAC believes that giving people the opportunity to deduct pet care expenses is a significant step toward ensuring that pets will receive proper health care, and will reduce the number of pets abandoned as a result of difficult economic times.
