First of all, athleticism has nothing to do with drive. I don't like highly driven dogs or I would be breeding Labradors. I do, however, want my dogges to be capable of athletic activity should a situation call for it. And according to the OEB breed standard they are suppose to be athletic. I say if you don't want athletic dogs then why even bother with a breed that is clearly defined by its athleticism. There is nothing wrong with breeding healthy EBs and if that's what you like then I say go for it, but why create dogs that are mostly EB and do not fit the breed standard for an OEB and call them Oldes? I'm not bashing what you like, just wondering why bother with a breed that you do not want to breed according to its standard?
