Nelson I would also love to get my dogges into pig hunting and even weight pulling and attack work for SOME of my dogges. I can say my doges are capable all day long but until I work to prove that they are healthy and athletic then its just words. Sure I have dogges that are more athletic than others. All but one of my dogges could run for hours and play, and tey are always in the lake swimming. I believe that my boy could take on a bull LOL, but he (none of my dogges) doesn't have the prey drive to do it. I like my dogges to be healthy AND athletic with good structure and temperment. I try to breed for it all, Thats why I'm changing a few things around my program. I'm having to RE-DO some things. I understand that I have a few things going on that aren't the best and I understand that to BETTER THE BREED I must get this and get that and do this and do that to make the breed better. I'm willig to change things, let things go, and even start over to get the PROPER bulldogge that represents the breed standard. Although the breed astandard is broad it is all we have. I've seen peope put their beautiful dogges in shows and then wonder why they didn't win anything. It was because they had a beautiful dogge, but that beautiful dog didn't meet the breed standard. One reason I love the NBA is because they are doing a lot for the breed, not throwing off on any other registries, I just like the NBA. The NBA gives me the opportunity to show my dogges against others to se how they compare against the breed standard. Now I'll be the first to say that my Liby is not as bully as I would like, but she is healthy, athletic, has great temperment, and has good conformation. I understand that breeding her to a bullier OEB will help bring out the bullyness in the puppies and get closer to the LOOK that I want. I will choose to breed her to a healthy, athletic OEB that has a good temperment and good conformation. I want to achieve the best OEB. I don't want o reinvent the wheel. Jen, I think your dogges are beautiful. I think all of us that ever got into OEBs got into them because we loved the EB first. But after research we found wanted a better dog. That was CAPABLE in all areas...my opinion...
