This is a good topic. If you consistently put EB into the dogs all you end up with is EB's so what's the point. There is a standard for the breed, and I would think if you want to breed OEB's no matter who you are that you would want to abide by the written standard. I believe the standard is still to broad, but it does leave room for some of the bigger or smaller ones, but it clearly states that the muzzle must be atleast one inch. This is not the nose. This is the Muzzle itself. An EB has no Muzzle length. Some of the EB's have that big roll over their eyes. I don't know how they can't have health problems with that issue. Well I'm getting off topic. I didn't think we bred EB's. I have no problem if you want to Breed English just don't call them an Oldes. I have a friend that doesn't call her dogs Oldes or English. She has her own name for them, and that works too. She registers them that way too. Ok well I just got up so I better go take care of the doggies.
This isn't aimed at the person that is still outcrossing to build a better dog. This topic is about (in my opinion) calling English OEB's so that way you can do whatever you want with them, or because they are popular right now, or that maybe you can breed enough health into your EB's that they will breed or whelp natural. I don't know, but they are still EB's.
