Posted by Ap. Huyana on February 5, 2009, 2:23 am Each individual that finds their element finds that element to be as equally an individual. Courage’s elements of fire and water were playful and teasing, as Lycoris’ air had been. But Kratos air was furious and serious, as Huyana’s water was more serious and reserved, calming her and lending her strength internally. The elements are a part of their wielder, they are their wilder so it’s no surprise they seem to have matching ‘personalities’, but it’s more than that. They seem to have a mind of their own, offering quiet advice and helpful nudges. Lycoris’ air warned her before Voraer’s fire came funneling towards her, just as Voraer’s fire lashed him into even greater frenzies of fury. Unless practiced, the element could control you. A simper finds it’s way like a black snake upon Huyana’s lips, and her rib cage shudders with silent laughter. ”You took it better than I did.” Huyana flicked her black tail mischievously, amber eyes glinting. ”The first time I knew someone read my mind, I was terrified and felt betrayed… you are much more open to the wonders, strange and many as they are within this realm.” Huyana was slightly envious really, she wished she had the greater self-control this mare seemed to herald, it was an admirable quality. Though Huyana was usually significantly calm and collected, one can always hope to be better.
”The ranks, is where we will begin then.” Huyana murmurs softly, recalling that this was also the first topic Courage had chosen to teach her. How blind and ignorant she had been then… but we learn and we grown. Huyana motions forward with her muzzle and slide past the fellow roan, moving into a walk and inviting the new scholar to move beside her. Huyana detests standing still, she is a restless creature, as water is ever moving.
”You have chosen scholar, forfeiting the paths of spy and warrior that also exist within the element.” It was the very basics. ”In each class there are specific levels to be achieved, and new abilities which come with them. For scholars… once you have completed the task I will soon assign to you, you will move into an Apprentice rank and begin teaching new scholars. In this manner you will help me gain my Seer rank. Seers may be elected to the scholar council, and by the grace of the elements be granted the standing of oracle, the pinnacle of scholarly accomplishments.” Huyana’s voice had a dreamy feel to it as she longed for such titles. Not for the glory or the name, but for the struggle and the definement, the new knowledge that would come flooding with it. She smiled shyly. ”When you earn apprentice you will be able to connect with the minds of others. As a seer you will be able to use telekinesis, heal and gain an animal as your familiar, your closest ally. At oracle level, dreams of the future will find you and help you, and you may negate a steal upon someone.” Huyana hummed softly, aware she was giving much although she had only covered one class, and the elements and the herds and the shards/relics remained… though Huyana barely understood those herself and doubted she would cover the topic unless pressed to. ”We scholars are truly the most powerful of all the classes, but you’ll often find we are the least likely to use our abilities.” Huyana laughed like the rain, her water bubbling within her.
She turned her head now as they walked, golden eyes glinting curiously as she watched the mare beside her. ”Earth then.” Huyana acknowledged, a soft hum falling from her tongue once more, a process she seemed to have adopted when thinking on something. ”One of the few elements I know the least about, that and lightning. Water and fire I see most commonly, and air I’m rather familiar with. But I’m sure living in Andarin you’ll meet plenty of earth elements, herds seem to attract specific elements. Solira draws in the water and some of the air. Ni’Srilan the fire and some of the lightning. Andarin entices the earth, and seems to be well mixed with the other elements.” Huyana lifted her head, eyes glancing across the sky and the building storm. ”Andarin is strong.” She dropped her head once more, a smile unable to be contained from her lips. She spoke as if revealing a delicious secret, whispering it so highly she may as well not have whispered at all.
”Rain is coming.”
