This was her first time outside of the ocean.
And it isn’t fear of the outside that touches the childs heart, it is something so much more. Perhaps she is excited and it overwhelms her. Honestly, like a child on their first day of school. Pun intended. After all, in all technicality it was, was it not?
She wanders through the forests, past the coastal plain of the ocean. Her earth moving through her at ease, a delicately placed flower hiding behind her left ear. She smiles, but it holds all innocence. She laughs and giggles as the birds fly above her. For now she forgets her family, for now she looks forward to the path she has set for herself. Despite the feelings she has for her father, the filling she could never forgive him for leaving her and her mother, she peruses the same scholar hood has he had, and for now, he remains a very well established seer in the mountains, along with a few other.
She scolds herself for thinking those thoughts, and for now she lets them rest.
The sun is high above her when she finally enters the academy. And a feeling of awe crosses the black and white childs face. Her eyes wide as she looks around the columns and ruins covered in vines and old earthen stuff. She laughs and begins to prance about them.
There will always be this overwhelming happy air about her. But somewhere inside her is a dark spot that all of us have. But she masks it, and masks it well.
She does not know who actually her teacher is, Skylar she thinks. But decides she would much rather observe everything in some kind of wonder before she actually look for her.
Still young and naïve she sets about the academy.
so i place these scales over my eyes;
