Posted by Huyana on November 13, 2008, 8:49 pm, in reply to "And bring us back another day;" It is perhaps best you did not pry into the mind of my child. She was already startled enough by Kemush on her entrance to Solira, that a second invasion here would make her anxious and to a degree, paranoid. Normally very calm and unphased by anything, Huyana was not prepared, not even fathoming the idea of mind-reading. She dare not even toy with the idea that it was rather common-place her, but I suppose in time her ignorance would be stripped from her. She would be fearful at first, not a common thing for her but not beyond her; but she would eventually learn to control her thoughts even more. To notice those who might have the crowbar to her mind, and recoil from their prodding touch. She would however, never come to enjoy it. Her mind was hers, her single sanctuary, her one home. I also fear those who should look at the wrong time, her memories, her thoughts- they are not the most pleasant things at times. She is an afflicted being, lost within her own depths she struggles against them.

Hallucinations, nightmares. If you’re in for a scare catch her when she sleeps.
Quiet eyes submerged in gold turn from admiring the land to skip towards the aureate mare approaching her. A subtle observation began, Huyana inspecting this new individual with a refined process of judgment. Height, stance, breed, motion, expression, tone, words… everything. Show me everything about you. So much could be seen, could be heard without much effort on your part. You are not very old, your eyes do not look so tired and ragged, your coat not so weather-worn and battle scarred. You remain uplifted, happy and optimistic. You walk neither aggressively nor submissively, showing a neutral fitting in this world with which you are satisfied. For now. And your words, your features. You are intelligent, you are similar to Huyana.
The rain-dyed mare smiles, already more accepting of this golden student than she would have been to someone less capable. Huyana allows her black muzzle to dip in a slight nod, a typical mannerism that signified a quiet greeting and allotted respect. In the beginning, everyone is neutral. Huyana only marks you as enemy when you have proven you are against her, and as an ally only when you stand beside her. ”Solira.” Huyana repeated, her clear and fluid voice pouring from her mouth like a running stream. ”I am from there as well.” She let a smile shrug along the right portion of her lips as a common ground of comradery was already found. ”Cougar,” Huyana repeated, to help herself remember the feline calling, ”I am Huyana, of nothing important. Simply a searcher amongst a sea of the lost.” The notion of an academy remained lost to the mare, this was simply a normal land as any to her. The elements, the powers, the class system was all clouded in ignorance. Were she to be aware of her folly she would hate her oblivious tongue.
