For dreams and things that never are.
Let me begin by saying that these two might be kindred spirits. Courage is a child still, but she is a child of the waters and of the fires that consume the land. Her golden yellow hide and her forever benevolent features shine a beautiful shimmering smile at the creature as she makes her embarking upon the Academy’s soil. The elements greet her in their own way, and Courage can feel her water excitedly accepting her and wanting to bring her closer. The fire inside of her sort of watches her, curiously and cautiously keeping itself away as the water rejoices. They are like playful siblings, her elements. But she is always their commander. It’s a great partnership, and the world of the Academy provides the perfect cover for her to be away from her home in Solira. Things were not looking up there, and Courage found it best to stay out of the conflict for the time being. Kratos wasn’t really around much, but the few stranded moments that she did get to see the love of her life were enough to sustain her thirst and hunger for his affections. Courage is a blessed soul to have found friends and alliances in her home that promised to protect her. But truth be told, she’d like to one day be able to protect herself. As the teacher mare-child watches the incoming mare, there is no mistaking her water’s happiness that a new friend had been found. She smiled and came closer, ever so gracious and very much the equine equivalent to Melanie from Gone with the Wind.
”Hello, I’m Courage, a teacher here in the Academy and from Solira,” she said, not bothering to use her ability to read minds to gather any information about the mare; it’s a private thing and Courage didn’t want to spoil the surprise and all. ”Welcome. What can I call you?” It might be odd but this was inescapably similar to the greeting Marshall had given Courage upon her entrance into the Academy. But the memory was soon stifled, and the golden mare smiled, letting her water play along her skin while the blue flames flickered in her eyes. Dear stranger, is this your first encounter with a dual elemental being? Be thankful she’s nice. They’re not always so nice as my treasure Courage.
