There are the introspective types who want to learn about themselves and others so that they may better the world as a whole, or at least impact it in some way. Then, there are the less-common – the scholars like Cyan, driven with insatiable malignant curiosity and very much concerned with finding interesting and abstract ways to toy with those around him.
And perhaps, through the pursuit of knowledge, Cyan can find some way to define himself – this chemical pandemonium of enthalpy, of conflicting reactions which surge through his veins and a certain sharpness to his ascerbic green gaze and luminescence to his emerald mane. But it is his idly corrosive nature which shines the brightest in those eyes. He stops in the middle of the Academy, casts a fleeting, mildly interested glance around himself and waits with utmost, tranquil contentment.
Cyan has much to learn here.
It’s only a matter of time - assuming, of course, someone steps forward to train the black and green kid standing there looking so supremely disaffected, half-smiling to himself and bemused.
